Fabiana from Raglan Botanicals
Meet the Maker: Fabiana Henderson from Raglan Botanicals & Anya Silver Jewellery
Tell us a little bit about your journey migrating to New Zealand.
After 15 years working in a jewellery shop in my home of Sao Paulo, Brazil I embarked on an overseas adventure. I ended up in New Zealand about 20 years ago but only to later relocate to New York City for two years, dedicating myself to further studies of diamond expertise at GIA (the Gemological Institute of America), while working in a jewellery shop in the diamond district of Manhattan.
How did you find yourself back in New Zealand?
Like many travelling stories, I wound up marrying a kiwi I met at a party and we settled in Raglan. We now have two beautiful teenage boys Leonardo and Diego.
How did Raglan Botanicals come about?
Following the early years of motherhood, I found myself pondering my next chapter in life. Driven by my passion for essential oils, I began taking an Aromatherapy course to assist others with managing stress and nurturing emotional well-being. Recognising the profound connection between scent and memory, I became a certified Aromatherapist, founding Raglan Botanicals Aromatherapy to provide guidance and safe usage of Essential Oils formulating Therapeutic Products and Natural Skincare.
Four years later, I felt pulled to my roots in jewellery, prompting me to rekindle with that aspect of my career. Anya Silver Jewellery was born, where I applied the wealth of knowledge of natural gemstones in 925 Sterling Silver jewellery. This range is also available at my Made market stall.
What’s next for Raglan Botanicals?
Excitingly, I've just recently expanded, opening a second flagship in Raglan. With each of these new endeavours, I'm excited to continue growing and connecting with the community on a deeper level. Here's to the journey ahead, filled with endless possibilities and opportunities for further enrichment.
