Signifying the start of the Māori new year, June sees the rise of the Matariki star - a time to come together, celebrating with kai, kōrero and entertainment. Come celebrate Matariki with us at Made this June.

Kapa Haka - Mess Hall (opposite Little ‘Lato), 12pm

Join us at Made for a Kapa Haka performance.

Harakeke Weaving - Made Market, 10am - 2pm

Join in a free interactive demonstration of harakeke weaving and learn the art form of this unique skill.

Activities for the Kids - Made Market, 10am - 2pm

Bring the kids along to join in some Matariki activities including a colouring competition, stencil face drawing (gold coin donation) and board games.

Colouring and Name the Stars competition starts Thursday 20th June. Grab a copy from Pirongia Mountain Vegetables and winners will be drawn Friday the 28th June.

Pop-up Kai Market - Made Market

Taste the flavours of a traditional ground cooked hāngī, seafood or steamed pudding at a pop-up kai market stall in the market.
